Noah’s Park Staff

Noah’s Park is part of the Children’s Ministry of Cicero Christian Church, under the leadership of Children’s Ministry Assistant JaNell Martz. But the most important people are the children, and our volunteers, who assist in caring for our young children.

Facilities

Noah’s Park begins at the door to the ark, where children are checked in, and the ark consists of a common area and rooms specially prepared for infants, toddlers, two-year old children and three-year-old children. A miniature restroom is available for those learning a very important skill, as well as an area for nursing mothers, and numerous changing tables. Access is also convenient to grown-up size restrooms.

Special Needs

We have support staff available for children with special needs through our disability ministry, Friends Unlimited Junior (FUJ). Let Amber Smith, Children's Ministry Coordinator, or JaNell Martz know if you would like this ministry to be put into action.

Curriculum

We are currently using Little Dogs on the Prairie curriculum from Group Publishing to teach our young friends.

Security: Check–in System

We here at CCC want to offer your children the safest place as possible for them to worship, learn and play. One of the ways that helps us to ensure that your child is able to arrive where they need to be and then safely return to their parents is the check-in system.

There will be a table at the entrance of each children’s ministry classroom. A parent (or  legal guardian) must escort the child to the classroom of the first service they attend. (Children will be escorted between service if they change classrooms. The parents do not have to escort the children between services.) No child will be allowed to enter into the classroom without a parent present.

The parent will sign the child in and fill out a sticker. There is a sticker for the parent and one for the child. Each has a corresponding three digit number in the right hand corner. In an emergency, this three digit number can be displayed in the black display monitor on the north east wall in the sanctuary. The parent will need to produce the sticker when they pick up their child. The child’s sticker also acts as a nametag and provides information to the teacher or volunteer about special needs, and what event(s) they will be attending. Each age level will have distinctive marks or colors on them to assist volunteers in identifying your child.

When the parent is ready to pick up their child, they will go to the checkout table in front of the Sunday School, Nursery, Kid’s Church, or Small Group room and request their child. The volunteer will then require the parent to produce the sticker that correctly corresponds with the number on the child’s nametag. Then the child will be able to leave with the parent or guardian. Siblings will not be able to retrieve children from the Children’s Ministry classroom or event. Note that if you attend Church Complete (both services), many children will be dropped off for Sunday School in one classroom and picked up from Children's Worship in a different classroom. The classroom schedules can be found by clicking here.

Nursery Notification System

Noah’s Park (birth through age 3) uses a system of restaurant style pagers that the parent takes with them after leaving the child in Noah's Park. If the child has a need that the parent must address, they pager will light up and vibrate and the parent can report to Noah's Park.

Volunteers

Are you thinking about being a volunteer in the Children's Ministry? Well you’ve come to the right place. Here you will find the Volunteer Application and Handbook to download and look at. If you desire to serve in the Children's Ministry then fill out the application and turn it in to Amber Smith (Children’s Ministry Director) or JaNell Martz (Children’s Ministry Assistant). We will review it and get back with you. The forms are here below, just simply click on the form you want and either open it or save it to your computer. Thank you for thinking about volunteering.

Coming soon: online schedules for volunteers!
