The men really had a long day at the Worship Center today. They put most of the roof on the worship center and continued working on the wiring inside. Greg and his son, Austin went to the reservation. Most of the younger kids were treated to a movie in Show Low (except Christian, who is a work horse, and stayed at the worship center with the men and teen boys). Beth Smith met back up with her godson Damian's mother at the movies and Damian returned to the reservation.
Beth and Gina went to a birthday party for two of Mike and Sylvia Bones' children who are visiting their families on the reservation while they are vacationing from Sheridan on spring break. Sylvia was hosted by the McGill family a few years ago as part of the "Indiana Connection" and her husband and family (four boys) moved to Sheridan about 2 years ago.
This was a day that the men did most of the cooking - they fixed pancakes and bacon for breakfast and prepared pork ribs for supper. Kurt & Kelle Foland, Bob and Carolyn Eikenberry, Cindy Gritton and Pete and Kim Kemp joined us for supper of pork ribs and potatoes.
It hasn't been decided when we'll leave for home. No one wants to take off on their own without some support driving the long trek. It's looking like Saturday with a big day and several goals to accomplish on Friday.
Friday we expect a shipment of windows for the Worship Center, which we hope to have installed that day. We will also need a bit more lumber to complete the SW and SE corners of the porch. Perhaps we'll even test the pressure of the plumbing that's been installed.
It was very comfortable upper 70s today, just like it has been all week. No rain all week. Many have had sunburns because it really doesn't feel too hot with the dry weather, and several are peeling. The weather continues to be absolutely beautiful. At 9:00 on Thursday, the temperature is 60 degrees and many are gathered about the camp fire sharing some laughs. There is a breeze and everyone has jackets or sweatshirts on. Most are winding down for the night.
Those that got fishing licenses have no further chance to be depressed with their luck - their temporary tags expired.
Now that we're used to the 3 hour delay, we're going to have to leave!

Mike took several trips up and down this ladder working on the wiring. (I'm really tempted to put this nice shot of Mike's head on Eli's body!) |

Beth Smith and Gina McGill went to the reservation to visit with Sylvia Bones' family. The Bones live in Sheridan and are visiting on spring break. Fry bread in the back yard. |
